SONORUS, an Initial Training Network under the FP7 People Programme. The latin "sonorus" stays for "sounding" but there is also a similarity with "aquarius" that in Roman empire was a technician expert in water systems. At that time water in cities was synonymous with "quality of life"…. nowadays "acoustic environment" have similar significance. Sonorus is the created out of a dream to plan the acoustic environment of our cities in a holistic way that it supports wellbeing and health of the people living there. At the very end urban sound planning should be a self-evident part of city planning. The test sides for this dream are Rom, Berlin Antwerpen, and Brighton. The project started in October 2012 and runs for four years. The project is coordinated by Applied Acoustics, Chalmers University of Technology.
After the Symposium there was still time for a last SONORUS meeting. The Urban Sound Planning certificates were handed to the SONORUS ESRs as a reward for achieving their goals within the program.
